About us
NBC is built upon 40 years of practical experience in providing solutions to issues related to large-scale mapping and definitions of boundaries. It was established as a partnership in 2005, as a company following on from Oscon, a similar partnership registered in 1982.
Both Oscon and NBC were formed to provide independent consultancy services relating to detailed measurements of physical features on the surface of the earth. Oscon acted as a consultant to major oil companies in the offshore oil industry; NBC acts as a consultant to companies, organisations and individuals with property related issues in England & Wales.
NBC is registered with the RICS and uses qualified staff with extensive experience to conduct the work onsite.
The Principal Consultant of NBC is Richard Jackson, who joined the Royal Navy in 1965 and qualified as a Hydrographic Surveyor. After 10 years in the Royal Navy he was a Senior Lecturer at a technical training college for 2 years followed by 5 years as departmental and senior company manager with international survey companies. In 1982, having a total of 17 years practical experience, he established Offshore and Hydrographic Survey Consultants (Oscon) as a consultancy, which operated successfully for a further 23 years.
